Oro Navigacija builds its social responsibility on the principles of safe, reliable, and people-centred operations, where employee well-being and service quality are closely interrelated and mutually reinforcing.

Employees and Their Well-being

Our people are the foundation of our operations, and their competence, responsibility, and engagement ensure the reliable and safe provision of air navigation services. We recognise that attracting and retaining highly qualified specialists is a key prerequisite for the effective functioning of Oro Navigacija, therefore we consistently invest in their professional development and well-being.

We foster a safe, healthy, and inclusive working environment, with strong attention given to both physical and psychological well-being. Considering the nature of our work – high levels of responsibility, shift work, and the need for constant vigilance – we actively manage fatigue, stress, and other psychosocial risk factors and implement preventive measures.

A strong focus is placed on competence development – employees are provided with opportunities to continuously enhance their professional knowledge, develop their skills, and adapt to technological changes. Particular attention is given to ensuring the training and continuity of critical specialists, including air traffic controllers (ATCOs) and air traffic safety electronics personnel (ATSEPs).

The main objectives in this area are:

  • ensuring a safe and healthy working environment, with a focus on accident prevention;
  • strengthening employee well-being, engagement, and work–life balance;
  • continuously developing employee competencies and ensuring the continuity of critical specialists (ATCO and ATSEP);
  • fostering social dialogue and involving employees in decision-making.

Safety of Airspace Users

Safety is a fundamental value and the core of AB Oro Navigacija’s operations. By ensuring reliable air navigation services, the Company directly contributes to the safety of aircraft, their crews, and passengers.

Safety management covers the entire operational cycle – from hazard identification and risk assessment to the implementation of corrective actions and continuous monitoring. Particular attention is paid to data quality, the reliability of operational processes, and systematic risk management.

The Company aims to ensure that its services are accurate, timely, and compliant with the highest international standards, while maintaining transparent and reliable cooperation with airspace users. This approach strengthens not only the response to incidents but also preventive safety management and the overall safety culture within Oro Navigacija.

The main objective in this area is to ensure the highest level of safety and reliability of air navigation services.

Progress towards this objective is assessed through:

  • the aviation occurrence index, which enables monitoring of safety performance and trends;
  • the effectiveness level of the safety management system, reflecting how efficiently the overall safety management framework operates.

These indicators support not only incident response but also systematic risk management and the continuous strengthening of the Company’s safety culture.
